The Northern Carnarvon Basin (NCB) is situated at the southern margin of the North West Shelf of Australia and spans an area of approximately , square kilometers. The basin is tectonically divided into some sub-basins, such as Barrow, Beagle, Dampier and Exmouth, Exmouth Plateau, and Rankin Platform (Romine et al., ). Optimize offshore decisions with commercial seismic vessel data How accurate is the data you’re using to build seismic fleet forecasts and assumptions? Petrodata SeismicBase is an online tool that tracks all vessels solely used for the purpose of seismic surveys, using 2D, 3D, Ocean Bottom and Electromagnetic seismic acquisition techniques.

A seismic interpretation study should access the following data sets. 2D or 3D seismic data cube. • Well data are gotten from rock samples and measurements at depth from a wellbore. Well data required for interpretation are wire-line logs (gamma ray logs, resistivity logs, porosity log, sonic logs, density logs and neutron logs) or equivalent rock property model, . Recent exploration activity in WAP, Exmouth Plateau, has discovered gas-condensate in the late Triassic Mungaroo Formation (Figs. 1 and 2).Initial exploration of the Exmouth Plateau occurred from with the drilling of eleven exploration wells leading to several non-commercial gas discoveries and the discovery of the Scarborough gas field (Barber, ).

Offshore staff. ASKER, Norway – TGS and BGP have started the Northwest Shelf Renaissance 2D seismic survey offshore northwest Australia using the BGP Explorer vessel.. The program comprises around 8, km (4, mi) of long offset, broadband 2Dseismic data and additional magnetic and gravity data.. TGS’ goal is to provide enhanced imaging through to the deeper . The course includes geopressure analysis in unconventional systems and expanded content on the use of seismic data in pressure prediction. This class will supplement the prospector’s toolbox in sweet spot identification, develop awareness of concepts and techniques associated with completion design, unconventional reservoir development, and.

This research presents a seismic geomorphological analysis of slope failures in the Exmouth Plateau, offshore Northwest Shelf of Australia, using high‐quality 3D seismic data.

The recognition and suppression of seismic multiples, offshore North-West Shelf, Australia Conventional processing and analysis techniques applied to a seismic event had the appearance of not only a multiple, but also a bright spot believed to be a possible exploration target.

Published: 7 July Despite the North West Shelf of Australia being one of the most frequently impacted tropical cyclone regions worldwide, there is limited knowledge of how The recognition and suppression of seismic multiples.

Abstract. This chapter explains the preprocessing steps mainly used to prepare raw seismic data for the main processing steps. The preprocessing steps are demultiplexing, data loading, preparing and use of the single trace and brute stack sections, definition of the survey geometry, band-pass and time-varying filtering, different types of gain recovery, editing of bad traces, top.

Seismic surveys over the North West Shelf (NWS) of Australia have generated one of the largest 3D seismic data libraries worldwide with a coverage of ~, km2 of medium. Seismic Source Model Development for Australia’s Northwest Shelf James V. Hengesh The University of Western Australia, M, 35 Stirling Highway, Crawley, WA,Australia; [email protected] Abstract A seismic source model for use in The recognition and suppression of seismic multiples Seismic Hazard Analyses (PSHA) has been developed for Australia’s North West Shelf.

About. 3–5 December Kuwait City, Kuwait. In DecemberSEG and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) held a joint workshop to advance the understanding of seismic multiples, both as signal and noise, and to provide answers to the challenges posed by seismic multiples in processing and interpretation.

Seismic data is the principal geophysical method used to image the subsurface in both land and marine environments. Geoscience Australia has recognised the importance of the seismic technique since the late s and is a world leader in integrating seismic data with other Earth imaging and surface geology datasets to understand mineral and petroleum systems.

How do we obtain seismic data. To improve data quality and reduce noise in the data each subsurface point is multiply sampled to increase what is called ‘fold’.

This multiple sampling will increase signal while random environmental noise (often wind) in the data will tend to cancel out.

A synoptic view of six decades of offshore seismic survey activity in Australia, color-coded by decade, to illustrate the extensive use of seismic surveys in oil- and gas-producing regions of the world.

Box on bottom right suggests less activity, but it only covers the first four years of the current decade. The output of an air gun array is typically illustrated by a normalized pressure time sequence called a signature of a in.

This demonstrates our strong capabilities and the high regard in which we are held by our clients in the offshore industry.SC Solutions was engaged to conduct seismic analysis and design check of an offshore gas platform, which is comprised of a four-legged steel gravity substructure (SGS) and Topsides.

The platform is supported on square foundations located directly beneath each of the four vertical columns of the SGS at a water depth of approximately 70 meters.Multiple routes have been proposed for this dispersal and all involve at least one multi-day maritime voyage approaching km.
